The cause of lameness

The cause of lameness

In locomotor disorders, it is of course essential to determine the exact point generating pain and therefore lameness: which leg is affected, what is the degree of pain? This initial stage is the "functional diagnosis".

The second stage, however, is essential in order to start suitable, targeted treatment. This involves identifying which anatomical structure, which tissues are affected, and the precise nature of the damage causing the pain. This is what is known as the "damage diagnosis".

Lameness originating from a tendonFibrous structure connecting a muscle and a bone. is obviously not treated in the same way as bone damage and the success of the treatment given depends largely on the initial damage diagnosis.
